We are in an age that could be best described as “information renaissance” where everything moves freely in the world that has gradually become a global farmstead. People are more eager to share their experiences with others than ever before, thanks to technology that gave us the internet. It’s no longer a question of how-do-I but when-should-I pass on that information that might become the hot cake in town. And right at the epicenter of this internet phenomenon are digital marketers who are ever alerted to its attendant benefits and making sure that businesses get their fair share. Theirs are one of the top in-demand jobs in the market today, you wonder why digital scientists have become a sine qua non to the success of many organizations.
As a digital marketer who is just setting out, you are preoccupied with a thought of getting a perfect window through which you can reach your audience seamlessly. You want to open accounts across different social platforms, engage in search engine marketing (SEM), become a member of high traffic forums in your niche, have a professional business page (you could organize gathering through your Facebook page, for instance, if you know how to create Event on Facebook Page and promote it in News Feed), and most importantly, own a blog that will be under your full control and stewardship. Since people often use a blog as a yardstick to judge an online business, you want to grow your authority through it, I mean you want to drive loads of people to your blog, which could be quite an arduous task to accomplish as a starter. It can be very frustrating to find out that only a few people get to read that content you have worked hard to create. This is exactly what this copy is concerned about: how to get more blog traffic, especially, as a starter blogger!
Many apps are being built daily to help bloggers ease off what would have otherwise been a difficult task. In fact, there are innumerable sources online where you can find a number of productivity tools to bear on your brand website optimization effort. But most of these services you will come across that are actually helpful are paid.
This particular app I will only recommend to every blogger out there, not just for its ability to grow blog traffic but for making its service available to those who’re short on budget.
Noah Kagan has created a Swiss-army-knife of all apps for bloggers to drive traffic to their blogs like a magnet, It’s called SumoMe. This app can be installed in virtually every platform, WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, Squarespace, and even a full-scale Website, so long you have access to their source code. You only need to place a code into your blog’s template code to install this app, and if you don’t know how you can request for it to be done for you. Visit the website to copy the code and paste it into the “head tags” of your blog – if you’re a WordPress user, your case is even easier, you only need to search and download its WordPress plugin and upload the “sumome.zip” in the plugins section of your blog. After you have successfully installed this app, an icon will pop up on the top right side of your blog, click on it and register your account, this will take you to the plugin’s store where you can hand-select from its many features to implement on your blog.
If you have been looking for that beautiful social sharing buttons that can spark interest from your readers to share your content more, then SumoMe’s Share feature is what you need. You can mold your sharing buttons to your taste, remove or add new buttons with ease, configure how you want to show the sharing statistics, and track how your contents are shared on different social networks. There is also an “Image Sharer” that you can use to share your images by just one-click. The “Highlighter” tool lets you highlight a portion of your post and easily share that.
There is a feature like “List Builder” to convert your visitors into subscribers (A customizable popup that asks visitors to input their emails – in an unobtrusive way – as they landed on your blog). The “Analytics” tool that gives you insights into your blog to be able to make an informed decision about your content type. Other features include a Heat Map, Smart Bar, and a Contact Form that makes it easier for people to share their thoughts as they contact you. Obviously a great price for the premium features.
What I like most about SumoMe is how you can track its features’ performances right inside the app, you don’t need to be a computer guru or mathematician to know if you’re making progress or not. Many apps like this would’ve made you pay through your nose to enjoy their full service, but with just a few bucks you can unravel all SumoMe’s full features for your blog. Try it out to see for yourself.
Now your turn?
